Mr Clement Boateng, the President of the Ghana Union of Traders' Association is urging the government to suspend the utilization of the Publican Artificial Intelligence (AI) system at the nation’s ports and borders.
The government introduced the use of the AI system at the various ports in March 2026 to facilitate clearance at the ports and borders.
But, Speaking to Ama Konadu on the Tuesday edition of Sompa “Ade Akye Abia” morning show, Mr Boateng said the association had officially notified the government and was yet received feedback.
He threatened that if the system was not halted, then the association would be left with no other option than to stop the imports of goods.

Mr Boateng complained that the AI system was not providing the right value import duties, calling for a broader stakeholders’ engagement on the system.
