Dr Daniel Gunguni, the Medical Superintendent of the Kwatire Governmental Hospital in the Sunyani West Municipality has appealed for medical devices for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the facility.
He said the NICU required tube and Led phototherapies, perfusser, concentrators, infant monitors, weighing scales and other devices to attend to preterm babies.

Dr Gunguni made the appeal in an interview with Sompa FM on the sidelines of the opening of the NICU unit of the hospital at Kwatire and appealed to the indigenes of the area, especially those abroad to come to their aid.

He said no amount was little, and urged the people to also support the facility to buy the medical equipment and devices.
Mrs Elizabeth Elizabeth Sofaah, the Head of the NICU Unit of the hospital said though the Unit had two incubators, it was not enough, saying that the facility had been attending to several referral cases from the rural communities.
