National Service Personnel Association of Ghana (NASPA) has bemoaned the delay in the payment of their monthly allowances.
National President of the Association, Mr Gideon Osei speaking in an interview with Sompa FM in Sunyani explained, the major challenge of the association has been the delay in the allowances.
He said most of the personnel rent rooms and pay transportation therefore any delay in the payment bites hard on them.
His comment comes after a group calling itself Concerned National Service Scheme (NSS) Personnel Association of Ghana (CONSPAG).announced a nationwide strike effective Wednesday, July 3, 2024, until their allowances are paid.
The association cited several challenges that necessitated the decision to embark on the strike action. These included the inability to pay accommodation and utility bills, transport themselves to their various user agencies, feed themselves at their workplaces, and the need to borrow money from different sources to survive due to non-payment of allowances.
