The 27 family heads and nine chiefs of Ajumako Besease in Ajumako Traditional Area in the Central Region have destooled the chief of Ajumako Besease, Osabarima Danfo Baah VII, for what they alleged to be a gross insubordination to the Ajumako Traditional Council, the elders and the entire citizenry of community.
Spokesperson for the 27 family heads of Ajumako Bisease, Nana Kweku Eduah, who doubles as the Kwana Family head of the Chief, alleged that the Paramount Chief of the Ajumako Traditional Council, Okokudurfo Kwamina Hammer Ababio IX and other family heads had earlier disowned the Odikrow due to what they claimed to be his failure to accord them the due respect on many occasions.
He noted that as family head of the destooled chief, he tried every means possible to rely behind the Odikrow despites numerous complaints received about him. But has now realized that Osabarima Danfo Baah VII is not ready to heed to those pieces of advice given him. Hence, the day's destoolment ceremony.
The family head and other chiefs like the Gyaasehene of Ajumako Besease, Nana Kwame Edu V equally accused the destooled chief of poor developmental activities in the community.
Nana Kwame Edu further blamed Osabarima Danfo Baah of failing to render accounts of monies received for the community's development over the past three years.
Information gathered unveils that identified monies released for the celebration of the community's annual Akwambo festival, levies by the community for the renovation of the community's old post office and bags of cement and other monetary items donated to the community by its MP, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson have all not been accounted for by the chief
Others noted that Osabarima Danfo Baah VII, in a way to avoid chiefs and family elders (Ebusua Mpanyinfuo) who continuously called for accountability, he either strip them off their positions or choose not to be on good terms with them.
Some aggrieved members of the community however accused the destooled chief of using force to takeover lands of innocent individuals of the community and has continuously labeled them as slaves whenever they demand accountability from him.
In light of this, they declared their intentions never to get close to a chief who does not respect them.
As part of the destoolment ceremony, a sheep was sacrificed to pacify the seven divinities and ancestors of the area and to also announce to them of the community's intention of having nothing to do with the destooled chief any longer.
They also fired musketeers and beat the royal drum to signify that they had parted company with the chief of the area.
The 27 family heads and the nine chiefs of the area after the ceremony, locked up the palace, poured drops of blood and also decorated the locked up palace door with red strips of cloth as a way of denying the chief's access to the palace to also express their anger.
News obtained from the 27 family heads and the nine other chiefs of the community is that the paramount chief of the Ajumako Traditional Council, Okokudurfo Kwamina Hammer Ababio has to this effect, received their letter of the destoolment of the Ajumako Besease chief, Osabarima Danfo Baah VII.
Elders and traditional rulers of the area called on the youth not to allow themselves to be used by anyone to cause mayhem as a result of the destoolment of the labeled insubordinate chief.
