In its ongoing mission to empower communities and foster economic growth, the Obokese Foundation has impacted the lives of 50 small-scale female entrepreneurs from Moree in the Central Region through an intensive entrepreneurial training program.
Held at the Obokese University of Excellence in Cape Coast, the workshop was led by two distinguished members of the Foundation’s board—Dr. Richmond Yeboah and Madam Twyla Garrett, a seasoned U.S.-based entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Obokese Garrett Holding.
Their goal is to equip participants with practical skills in customer relations, product enhancement, and profit optimization.
The initiative, forms part of the Foundation’s broader vision of women and youth empowerment, is designed to promote financial independence and improve the economic well-being of participants—who, though not needy or vulnerable, stand to benefit greatly from new opportunities and enhanced business strategies.
Speaking to Sompa News reporter Eric Annan, Nana Obokese Ampah I, CEO of the Obokese Foundation and Apagyahen of the Asebu Traditional Area, emphasized how transformative this opportunity could be for the participants. He encouraged the women to take full advantage of the knowledge shared and apply it meaningfully in their business ventures.
Madam Twyla Garrett expressed her passion for mentoring, sharing that she was honored to guide fellow women entrepreneurs. “I was built to train, grow, and mentor,” she noted, adding that women in business must be open to learning, embrace change and technology, and maintain an enthusiastic mindset for continuous growth.
Participants expressed deep appreciation for the training, highlighting its relevance and immediate impact on their entrepreneurial journeys. Many shared their commitment to putting the lessons into practice to improve their businesses and support their families.
The Obokese Foundation’s initiative aims not only to empower individual women but to create a ripple effect that contributes to the broader development of the Moree community—laying the groundwork for sustainable economic transformation.
