Some residents in Sunyani, the Bono Regional capital say they are still shocked and saddened about the military helicopter crash, which remains the major topical issue in the capital.
President John Mahama has declared three days of national mourning, in honour of the eight Ghanaians who lost their lives in a tragic military helicopter crash on Wednesday August 6, 2025.
The late Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister for Defence, and Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation and together with six others died in the fatal crash that happened in the
of the Ashanti Region.
In a random interview with Sompa FM the residents said they were shocked and saddened about the demise of the two ministers of state who died in the crash.
Madam Dorcas Achiaa, a seamstress sad she received the news about the tragedy with shock, urging Ghanaians to refrain from the incident and mourn together with the bereaved families.
