700 trainees enrolled under NAP in Bone Region-Coordinator

Mr Adam Ibrahim, the Bono Regional Coordinator of the National Apprenticeship Programme (NPA) says the programme has enrolled 200 trainees in the region

He said the apprentices were selected from the about 6,000 applications received however urged those who were not picked to remain calm, assuring that the programme was being and they would benefit too

The NAP, a major government initiative to address youth unemployment, close the skills gap, and promote economic growth in the country offers free high-quality apprenticeship training to equip young people with industry-relevant technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial skills.

On completion, the beneficiaries will receive nationally recognised certification and pathways to employment or self-employment in priority sectors like agriculture, manufacturing, ICT, fashion, construction, renewable energy, and traditional crafts

Speaking in an interview with Sompa FM, Mr Ibrahim said 136 masters had also been engaged to train the apprentices spread across 12 politically administrative districts and municipalities in the region

He indicated that the pilot implementation of the NAP had exceeded the target of the 10,000 youth, presently enrolling about 15.000 trainees in the various modules of the programme nationwide

Mr Ibrahim urged the trainees to take their training seriously and asked masters to also ensure that they trained them well for the job market.
