Some concerned residents in the Sunyani Municipality have attributed the rising incidents of road crashes to driver negligence.

They told Sompa FM in an interview in Sunyani that more ought to be done to check commercial drivers against carelessness.

They were reacting to the Chief Executive of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Juilus Neequaye Kotey's warning to motorists against careless driving.

According to the CEO indiscipline remains one of the major causes of road crashes in the country warning that careless drivers would be sent back to driving school.

Rockson Amankwah, a driver mate told Sompa FM that the DVLA's idea of sending carleess drivers back to the driving school is welcoming.

However, Mr Fred Obrempong, another resident expressed concern about deplorable condition of the nation's road networks, calling on the government to reshape the roads to control the crashes
