The Ghana Education Service (GES) has removed Charles Akwasi Aidoo, the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, after a video circulated on social media appeared to show him in a compromising situation with a female student.

In its statement, GES said Aidoo is barred from entering the school while investigations proceed. The agency emphasised it will follow due process under its code of conduct.

The video, which went viral on platforms including Facebook, depicts what appears to be an intimate encounter between a man and a female student in a private setting. The man in the video is alleged to be Aidoo.

“Management views this matter with utmost seriousness,” said Daniel Fenyi, head of public relations at GES. “Due process will be followed, and the appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.”

The GES reassured students, parents and the public that student welfare remains its priority, and condemned any act that compromises the dignity, safety or wellbeing of learners.
