The Chief of Simiw, a suburb of the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality in the Central Region, Nana Kwamina Nguando IV, has laid out the ordeal himself and his people have been made to endure for years now through the area's bad road network.

He has emphasized that the area is tired of constantly witnessing babies delivered in 'Aboboyaa' (a three-wheel tricycle) by means of transporting pregnant women in labour to the hospital for safe delivery.

Nana Kwamina Nguando IV uncovered this at the grand durbar of the Simiw Enyankor festival, held on Saturday, 5th October, 2025, to showcase the colorful displays of rich cultural heritage of the people of Simiw under the theme "2025 Enyankor Festival: Unity for Development."

The chief, however, took to the occasion to plead on the ruling NDC government to have roads in his community absorbed in the government's 'Big Push' agenda to have its disturbing road network resolved, coupled with a number of challenges the community is caught up with, which spans from health and water accessibility to the need for a constructed Community Day SHS.

Hon. Ishmail Zagoon, the Municipal Chief Executive Officer for the KEEA Municipality upon gracing the occasion, assured the town of a Health Service CHP compound and a mechanized borehole.

He further encouraged the town to participate in the national sanitation day program by the government, which is carried out once every month, to sanitize the Municipality and make it hygienic enough for citizenry to live in.

Meanwhile, Omanhene of the Edina Traditional Area, Nana Kodwo Condua VI, called on the people of Simiw to rally full support behind their chief to see to the actualization and development of the community.
