The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has provided update on the weather conditions for today, Tuesday, October 7, cautioning about thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rainfall expected in some parts of the country.

In a statement released on Tuesday, GMet said moderate to strong winds are expected to accompany the rainstorm.

“The thunderstorms and rain mentioned in the afternoon forecast have intensified, producing moderate to heavy rainfall over parts of the country,” GMet noted.

According to the Agency, the rainstorm is expected to continue moving westward affecting more areas within the coastal, middle, transition sectors as the afternoon progresses into the evening.

This is also likely to trigger localized thunderstorms or rain over areas within the northern sector.

The storm will be accompanied by thunder and lightning flashes while flooding may occur over low-lying areas, GMet cautioned.
