Cape Coast North MP Calls on Need for Students in Cape Coast to Benefit from Grade 'A’ schools in the city

The Member of Parliament for the Cape Coast North constituency, Hon. Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku has share worry, considering how difficult it is for students in Cape Coast to get admission to schools in the city which are mostly Grade 'A’ schools.

According to the MP, there should be a change of such narrative, coupled with other disturbing situation he highlighted, bothering on health, security and youth development.

Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku further called on the people of Cape Coast to be intentional about the city’s development, in order to befit the ‘City of Firsts’ status.

Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku made these expressions at the launch of the ‘8-Year Development Plan for Cape Coast’ at the University of Cape Coast on Thursday, 9th October, and reiterated the need to be very intentional to change the narrative.

The 8-Year Development Plan for Cape Coast was initiated by the Metropolitan Chief Executive, George Justice Arthur and prepared by a team of experts at the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly.

It is intended to serve as a blueprint to guide the development agenda of the city for the next eight (8) years, beginning 2026 to 2033.

According to Hon. George Justice Arthur, Mayor of the Cape Coast Metropolis, the 8-Year Development Plan seeks to boldly position the city of Cape Coast on a pedestal that is at par with its sister cities across the globe.

Adding that it is expected to take advantage of the international attractions to solicit the needed resources for the development of the Metropolis.

He stressed that the 8-Year Development Plan is purely a bye-partisan approach, hence condemned imploring any partisan politics in its execution, should the case of change of government set in.

Dr. Kobby Mensah, CEO for Ghana Tourism and Development Authority upon gracing the occasion, commended the Cape Coast Mayor for the initiative and shared the enormous benefit Cape Coast turns recoup from the proposed development plan with regards to tourism.
