Odeefour Oygemansan Boahenkorkor II, the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area has called for private sector collaboration towards creating more job opportunities for the youth in the area.
He noted that the government alone could not shoulder the responsibility of tackling the teeming youth unemployment situation, and called for private sector partnership.
The Paramount Chief was addressing a breakfast meeting he organised in Sunyani, attended by mostly the private sector and aimed identifying and helping to tackle the emerging development challenges in the area.
He expressed concern about the present state of the Sunyani Municipal Hospital and appealed to the private sector to help facelift the facility.
Mr Mustapha Omar Copson, the Bono Regional Director of the Youth Employment Agency said the Authority was doing more to create job opportunities for the youth.
He said through the YEA, 30 young people had been engaged as fire service assistance, 45 engaged at the National Ambulance Service as well as 55 engaged by the Sunyani Prisons.
