B/R: Man, 20, arrested for possession of firearm, narcotic drugs

The Bono Regional Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man for unlawful possession of a firearm and narcotic drugs at Odumase in the Sunyani West Municipality of region.

‎Acting on intelligence, Police moved to the residence of the suspect, Collins Kyeremeh and conducted a search.

‎A statement signed by the Bono regional Police PRO, Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah said, a polythene bag containing dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp was retrieved from the ceiling of his bathroom.

‎"During preliminary interrogation, the suspect initially denied possessing any firearm but later admitted and led the Police to an uncompleted building near his residence, where a Makarov pistol and four rounds of 7.62X17mm ammunition were retrieved”, the statement added.

‎The suspect is currently in Police custody assisting investigations. While efforts are underway to put him before court for prosecution.
