The Women Fellowship of the ‘Lead Me to Heaven Church’ at Kwatire in the Sunyani West Municipality at the weekend organised food competition to promote the consumption of locally prepared diets.
Members drawn from other locations of the church at Fiapre , Boffourkorm, Kwatire, Odomase and Sunyani participated in the competition which also sought to inspire the youth of the church to develop the taste for locally prepared dishes.
Apostle Yaw Oppong the Head Pastor of the Church told Sompa FM on the sidelines of the competition that the consumption of foreign food was partly contributing to the rise in sicknesses nowadays.
Mrs Faustina Adomah, the leader of the women’s fellowship of the church said the competition was in line with the celebration of the Women’s Nation week of the church.

One of the participants, Okyeame Serwaa commended the church for the event, and urged the youth to endeavour to learn the preparation of local dishes.
