A former Minister of Education, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has observed that the Ghana Education Service (GES) claims that the 2025 WASSCE poor results should not be attributed to strict invigilation and no access of 'apor' to the examination centers.
He is therefore demanding apology from the GES to the teachers who have toiled in their quest to ensuring that the students pass.
He further asked the Director General of Service to explain to Ghanaians if the students who have passed in other subjects were not aided with 'apor' or any form of examination malpractices.
Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum made the call on Tuesday during an interview with Sompa TV in Kumasi.
There have been controversies surrounding the release of the 2025 WASSCE results which saw students failing in the core subjects -Maths and Social studies.
Dr. Osei Adutwum said the mass failure should be attributed to the cancellation of Teachers Intervention Fund (TIF) by the government.
He says the intervention fund was given to teachers as incentives to do more in preparing the students for examination.
He therefore called on the GES to reinstate the TIF since it was a major cause of this year's poor WASSCE performance.
