The Bono East Regional Police Command has restored calm at Kwame Danso in the Sene West District after a violent mob attack on the District Court and the District Police Headquarters on Wednesday, 10th December 2025.
This was confirmed in an official statement issued by the Regional Police Headquarters in Techiman on Thursday, 11th December 2025.
According to the release, the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. when an irate mob of about 100 youths stormed the Kwame Danso District Court while proceedings were underway.
The group reportedly attacked individuals on the premises and vandalized furniture, fans, and other items. The mob also forcibly freed two accused persons who were standing trial and assaulted the complainant in the case.
The chaos escalated when the youths later moved to the Kwame Danso Police Headquarters, where they attacked two officers on duty and vandalized the facility.
A reinforcement team from the Atebubu Division, supported by personnel from the Formed Police Units (FPUs), was deployed to regain control of the situation and restore order.
Following directives from the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), the Kwame Danso Police Station and the District Police Headquarters have been temporarily closed. Personnel stationed there have been reassigned to other parts of the region until further notice.
The Police Command assured the public that all individuals involved in the attacks will be pursued, identified, arrested, and prosecuted.
