Police Restore Calm at Boadua After Chieftaincy Dispute

The Eastern South Regional Police Command has successfully restored calm at Boadua following a chieftaincy dispute that threatened to escalate tensions in the community.

According to the police, the incident occurred on Saturday, December 14, 2025, after a complaint was lodged by the Bretuo Abusuapanin of Boadua.

The complaint alleged that a group from the Boadua Aduana Family had gone to the Boadua Chief’s Palace, damaged the main entrance, forcibly entered the premises, and destroyed a shrine in an attempt to take over the palace from the Bretuo Family.

Police officers were swiftly dispatched to the palace upon receiving the report and successfully restored order, preventing the situation from deteriorating further.

In connection with the incident, eight suspects were arrested to assist with investigations.

They are Baffour Kwame Agyei Kwabena Twum, Baffour Kwame Annor, Baffour Kofi Dankwa, Maxwell Frimpong, Eric Dankwah, Nana Kwaku Frimpong, Baffour Kwasi Ampaabeng, and Baffour Yaw Anya.

The suspects have since been granted police enquiry bail and are expected to be arraigned before court on Thursday, December 18, 2025.

Police have therefore, assured residents of Boadua of their continued presence and commitment to maintaining peace and security as investigations continue.
