The Bono Regional Police Command has intensified security measures across major towns in the region as part of efforts to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Christmas and New Year celebration.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sompa FM, the Bono Regional Police Commander, DCOP Joshua Coppson Esq., assured the public of the police service’s readiness to maintain law and order throughout the festive season.
“We the police are there 24/7, and what we’ll say is that we have put many men in town, so everyone should do things in a rightful way,” DCOP Coppson said.
He urged residents to actively support the police by promptly reporting suspicious activities. “You should also alert police if you hear or see something that’s not good or usual in the society, so that police can also do their part of the work they’re supposed to do to protect everyone,” he stressed.
DCOP Coppson also issued a strong caution to drivers and motorists, particularly during the busy festive period when towns experience increased human and vehicular traffic.
“I will also advise drivers and motorists to be extra careful and slow down speed in this festive season because people are many in towns,” he stated.
According to the Regional Commander, the police are determined to ensure that celebrations are not overshadowed by road accidents or criminal incidents.
“This year, we’ll want to finish the Christmas celebration without any or many bad news on individuals,” he emphasized.
DCOP Coppson concluded by extending goodwill messages to residents of the region and the country at large. “I wish everyone merry Christmas and happy new year so that we’ll all be alive by next year like this.”
The police have encouraged the public to remain law-abiding and cooperative as security patrols are intensified across markets, transport terminals, and entertainment centers during the festive season.
