Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area has warned his sub-chiefs against engaging in illegal mining in the area.
He said the traditional council would have no other option than to destool any chief who engaged in galamsey activities to serve as deterrent to like-minded others.
Odeefour Ogyeamansan Korkor II gave the warning when addressing a durbar of chiefs and queens to mark the one-year anniversary celebration of his enstoolment in Sunyani.
He also spoke on sanitation and pledged his dedication to ensure that Sunyani remained one of the cleanest cities in the country.
Odeneho Akosua Dwaben ll, the Paramount Queen mother of the Dormaa Traditional Area presented GHC20,000 to support the celebration.
