On Point Foundation, a Non-governmental Organisation had handed-over a mechanized borehole for residents at Kobre, a farming community in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region.

Hitherto, Sompa FM gathered from residents that potable drinking water remained a daunting challenge as they walked distances to fetch water from adjoining communities.

Speaking at a ceremony held at Kobre, Mr Anwar Abdul Wahab, the Country Director, On Point Foundation said the NGO was established in 2025 with the objective of helping to identify and tackle emerging challenges in deprived communities.

He said he was highly optimistic that the borehole would address the perennial acute water problems in the area.

Nana David Anane, the Benkumhene (sub-chief) of Kojo Bofour, an overlord of the Kobre, thanked the NGO for the facility which had relieved the people, especially women and girls who walked distances to fetch water.
