Hon. George Justice Arthur again beseeched the government to reconsider its allocation to the Cape Coast Metropolis considering government's directives on the usage of the Common Fund, since the metropolis comprises of two constituencies which turns to situate Cape Coast at an disadvantageous position, compared to other districts in terms of infrastructure development.
Commissioning of the Sewin police station also witnessed the commissioning of a number of mechanized boreholes at the Kakumdo CHPS Compound and Effutu Health Centre all within the Cape Coast North constituency.
Hon. Dr. Kwamena Mintah Nyarku, the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North, re-emphasized commitment towards feasible developmental projects to address critical needs of his people and constituency.
He further implored police personnel to be posted to the commissioned police station not to use their office to intimidate residents of the community but rather ensure that adequate security is offered them.
Dr. Sammy Ayeh, Presidential Aide at the Office of Government Communications, having accompanied the Cape Coast North MP and Mayor throughout the activity, hailed the ruling government over the splendid work being carried out so far as health infrastructure is concern, as he shared optimism of even more greater works under the ruling government.
Traditional leaders and residents who spoke at the event praised the Mayor for what they described as responsive and people-centred leadership. Many said the police station and the new projects were long overdue and will have a positive impact on daily life in the area.
“We are happy because our concerns have been heard,” said a resident of Sewin. “The police station will make us feel safer to foster development in our community.”
The events form part of a broader development agenda being pursued by the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly to address critical needs across the metropolis. With the commissioning of the Sewin Police Post and the launch of multiple projects, residents expressed optimism that sustained development and improved security would continue to receive attention in the months ahead.
