A government-mandated land reclamation firm operating in the Ashanti Region has extended humanitarian support to the Muslim community in Kumasi as part of activities marking the holy month of Ramadan.

Logist Group Company Limited, currently undertaking land restoration works in the Amansie Central District, donated assorted food items to the Kumasi Central Mosque in a gesture aimed at supporting congregants observing the sacred fast.

Entrusted by government to reclaim lands devastated by illegal mining activities, Logist Group Company Limited has been restoring degraded landscapes within the Amansie Central District, one of the areas heavily affected by galamsey operations.
While its primary mandate focuses on environmental rehabilitation and ecological sustainability, the company says corporate responsibility must go beyond land restoration.

In observance of Ramadan, the firm presented bags of rice, cooking oil, sugar, cash and other essential food items worth Gh100,00 to the leadership of the Kumasi Central Mosque to support members during the fasting period.

Speaking at the presentation, a representative of the company Benjamin Gbewira emphasized the importance of combining environmental stewardship with social responsibility.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Muslim community, Imam Mohammed Issa, the public relations officer of the Kumasi Central mosque expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and thoughtful.

As Ghana intensifies efforts to combat the destructive impact of illegal mining, interventions by state-mandated firms such as Logist Group demonstrate that responsible enterprise is not only about reclaiming degraded lands, but also about sustaining communities and promoting inclusive development.
