President John Dramani Mahama says markets remain essential to everyday life, promising his dedication to construct the 24-hour market projects nationwide.

The President highlighted the importance of markets in advancing the nation's

economic progress, when he performed a groundbreaking ceremony for work to begin on the construction of a 24hour market at the Dormaa-Ahenkro Tuesday Market in the Bono Region.

He said on completion the 24-hours markets would create significant job opportunities, and boost local economic growth and development.



President Mahama explained that the Dormaa-Ahenkro market would contain

modern facilities and social amenities like basic creche, police station, fire station, clinic, cold storage facilities, and banking services.



Additionally, the President said the establishment of the Women's Development Bank would be incorporated into the market to provide women traders and

entrepreneurs with soft loans.

Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, the Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Area and the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs

commended the government for the execution of the 24hour markets projects saying that would greatly enhance rapid socio-economic growth and development.
