Killers of Berekum Chelsea's Dominic Frimpong Admits Involvement in Several Robbery Incidents

Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the deadly robbery attack on the Berekum Chelsea team bus, with the alleged gang leader admitting involvement in a series of robberies across the Ashanti Region.

According to a statement sighted at the official Facebook page of the Ghana Police Service, suspect Mohammed Ahmed, also known as “I can do,” confessed during interrogation to participating in several robbery incidents, including the Nkawie robbery, the Fufuso mobile vendor attack, and the assault on Berekum Chelsea FC that resulted in the death of player Dominic Frimpong.

He further identified accomplices Dauda, Huefe, and A.T., who are currently on the run.

"A combined team of officers from the Police Intelligence Directorate Headquarters, the Anti-Robbery Unit, CID Headquarters, the Ashanti South and the Ashanti Regional Police Commands has arrested two suspects in connection with the robbery attack on Ahyiresu-Kwame Dwumor Sreso (KDS) road in the Nyinahin District on Sunday, 12 April 2026, which led to the death of Dominic Frimpong, a player of Berekum Chelsea FC.", the statement said.

The statement sighted at the official Facebook page of the Ghana Police Service and signed by DSP Godwin Ahianyo, the Ashanti regional head of the Public Affairs Unit said, "During interrogation, suspect Mohammed Ahmed admitted involvement in several robberies including the Nkawie robbery, the Fufuso mobile vender attack and the attack on the Berekum Chelsea FC. He further mentioned accomplices identified as Dauda, Huefe and A.T., who are currently on the run."
