The timely response of personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service saved a security man on duty when fire gutted the building of the Sunyani District Magistrate Court ‘A’ and ‘B’ over the weekend.
The fire fighters managed to rescue the security man when the build caught fire in the early hours of Sunday, April 26, 2026 between 0200 hours and 0300 hours.
However, all the nine offices, including a cell in the court building situated around the Sunyani Municipal Assembly were devastated by the inferno, destroying official documents, stationery and logistics.

Speaking to Ama Konadu on the Monday edition of the Sunyani-based Sompa FM ‘Adea Akye Abia” morning show the Assistant Divisional Officer Grade One (ADOI) Kwame Adomako, the Bono Regional Public Relations Officer of the GNFS the command received a distress call and rushed to the scene.
He said investigations were on going to unravel the cause of the inferno.
