15 pregnant girls and 10 nursing mothers are writing the on-going Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Tano South Municipality of the Ahafo Region.
Mr Yaw Frimpong, the Ahafo Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES) disclosed this in an interview Sompa FM at Bechem.
He said 60 of the candidates comprising 33 males and 27 females had since not shown up at the various centers to write the BECE, saying the directorate had not received any information or reasons for their absenteeism.
Mr Frimpong added that the directorate had intensified monitoring and supervision and to stem examination malpractices and potential infractions, and urged the candidates to continue to be disciplined.
