1999 Old Students cut Sod for Construction of clinic at SUSEC

The 1999 old students of Sunyani Senior High School (SUSEC) have cut sod cutting for the construction of a clinic at the school’s premises.

The group said the construction of the project is part of their widow’s mite to giving back to the school for the Knowledge imparted in them and to also help elevate the health status of the students on campus.

The clinic, when completed, will comprise a 60-bed capacity, laboratory, consulting rooms, male wards, female wards, pharmacy unit and other important facilities aimed at serving the school’s population and the surrounding communities.

They construction of the facility, according to the group is on the theme: Building health, Restoring hope.

The program was graced by Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen korkor ll, the paramount chief of the Sunyani Traditional Council, Nana Yaa Korkor Sakyiwaa lll, the queenmother of Amasu and Ankobeahemaa of Dormaa Traditional Council, staff and students and other old students of the school.

Addressing the ceremony, the paramount chief of Sunyani, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor ll pledged his full support to the project and lauded the group for such a good initiative.

Nana Yaa Korkor Sakyiwaa lll, the Ankobeahemaa of Dormaa traditional area and queen mother of Amasu representing Nana Akosua Frema Dwaben ll, queen mother of Dormaa traditional area, praised the group for the gesture and called the other year groups to emulate same. The traditional leaders present at the sod cutting supported the construction of the project with the donation of 200 bags of cement.

The headmaster of Sunyani Senior High School, Mr Gideon Osei Marfo expressed appreciation to the year group, pledging their commitment towards the project. He revealed the credibility of the school after being tagged as an examination malpractice centre has been restored.
