Presby Moderator unhappy about unproductive, abusive use of new media among youth

The Right Reverend Dr Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has expressed dismay about the abusive and unproductive use of the new media among the contemporary youth.

He urged churches to strive, hammer on and help instill in the youth moral uprightness and purity and to help tackle the rise in moral decadence among the youth.



Rt Rev Dr Kwakye gave the advice when speaking at durbar to climax the 60th presbytery session and anniversary of the Brong-Ahafo Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana held at the Sunyani Jubilee Park over the weekend.



It was on the theme: "Celebrating our heritage: Building on the foundation already Laid and Celebrating 60 years of God's faithfulness, the Brong-Ahafo Presbytery in perspective".

Rt Rev Kwakye regretted that many of the youth use social media promote bad behaviors and urged the church to do more to help maintain the spiritual standard of the church.

Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area urged the church to improve physical infrastructure development in Presbyterian Schools.



He said educational facilities at the Sunyani Boahen Korkor Presby Basic School and the Bechem Presbyterian Senior High School ought to improve to advance academic progress.

Odeefour Ogyeamansan Korkor II cautioned Christians against petty squabbles and backbiting, saying that such behaviours cast a slur on Christendom.
