Mr. James Korsah Brown, a financial advisor has urged Ghanaian youth to prioritize education and stay away from social vices, should they aspire to secure a better future.
Speaking at a Campus Tour program organized by the Youth Parliament of Ghana in collaboration with the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and Cape Coast Technical University, he established that academic excellence remains the most reliable pathway to personal and national development.
He warned that distractions from drug abuse, gambling, cyber fraud, and other vices is derailing the potential of many young people.
“Focus on your academics, build your skills, and stay disciplined. No shortcut to success lasts," he emphasized.
Mr. Korsah charged the youth to desist from acts such as internet frauds, smoking because it can lead them to jail or have them become liability to themselves and the nation.
Mr. James Korsah Brown encouraged them to choose discipline over distraction and hard work over quick fixes.
The engagement held at the University of Cape Coast on Saturday was under the theme, "Empowering Youth Leadership for National Development and Civic Responsibility."
At the event was Dr. Anastasia Nana Ama Kumi-Korsah, Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast with the School of Business, emphasized that for Ghana to develop it needs the citizenry, as the youth must not be spectators but be involved with making concrete decision for the country.
Mr. Kwabena Agyapong who represented Hon. Kwamena Mintah Nyarku, the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North Constituency said, the youth are now taking their rightful position in the public space and Hon. Mintah Nyarku has taken the lead to mentor and nurture the youth for a bright future.
Acting Central Regional Director for National Service Authority, Mr. Rahman Abdul Karim also admonished the youth to be proactive and be responsible for their actions and charged leaders to welcome and guard them when necessary.
