The Right Reverend Dr Festus Yeboah Asuamah, the Anglican Bishop of the Sunyani Diocese has urged traditional authorities to remain faithful, serve in humility and prioritized the holistic development of the local communities.

As the embodiment of the people, he said chiefs and queens were not only the custodians of lands, but they remained as key partners of national progress and sustainable development.

Rt Rev Dr Asuamah gave the advice when speaking at the durbar of chiefs, queens and school children in Sunyani to climax the 10th anniversary of the St Anselm's Child and Youth Development Center (CYDC).

The diocese in partnership with the Compassion International, a Non- Governmental Organisation (NGO) established the CYDC to support the vulnerable and the less privileged in society.

Rt Rev Asuamah also highlighted the roles of chiefs and queens in sustaining national peace and stability, urging them to eschew tendencies that could jeopardize national peace and progressive development.

He emphasised that peace remained prerequisite to advancing national progress, and appealed to the chiefs to frontline development, urging the youth to also respect the elderly, and support community development.

Mr Duodu Bimpong, the Director of the St Anselm's CYDC said the center now had 260 children with some of the engaged in employable skills training and others preparing to enter into Senior High School
