Duayaw-Nkwanta chieftaincy Dispute: Royal Family invokes local deity’s intervention

The Tetretem Royal Family, one of the royal gates of the Duayaw Nkwanta Traditional Stool in the Tano North Municipality of the Ahafo Region has invoked the intervention of the local Duayaw-Nkwanta local deity towards addressing the chieftaincy dispute in the area.
Members of the family calling on their ancestor’s intervention in ensuring that the dispute was properly addressed for the right thing to be done.


Nana Binsare, the chief priest, led some members of the royal family to pour libation and performed some ancient traditional rites to attract the support of the local deity.
He insisted that presently the Tetretem Royal Family remained legitimate lineage to ascend to the Duayaw-Nkwanta Traditional stool.


“If the family is indeed the rightful occupant of the stool and is being treated unfairly then the gods of our land should judge”, he stated.

In an interview with the media, Opanin Ofori Adu, the Secretary to the Tetretem Royal Family emphasised that the family cherished the prevailing peace and unity in the area, and called on stakeholders’ intervention to in addressing the chieftaincy dispute.
