The last proceedings for the 2nd quarter of the 8th parliament have ended on Thursdayday 28th July 2022.
The house was filled to capacity as members from the majority led by Hon Kyei Mensah Bonsu pushed for the exit of Honorable Adwoa Sarfo, the member of parliament for Dome Kwabenya Constituency.
Meanwhile, the opposition side led by Honorable Haruna Iddrisu opposed the majority decision. As deliberations and proceedings from both sides yielded with no alternative, the speaker of parliament, Right Honorable Alban Bagbin, sought the opinion of what he describes as old lady.
After 2 minutes break and broad consultations, the right Honorable speaker of parliament said, “I have consulted the old lady, and I will not be in a haste to give my verdict, I shall submit to the house a written, reasoned ruling” he told the house.
The fate of Honorable Adwoa Sarfo remains uncertain as issues pertaining her absenteeism unfolds.
Parliament has adjourned proceedings until October.
