The Sampa Immigration Service has apprehended One Outtara, a citizen of Ivory Coast who is Suspected to be a member of the Qnet company for defrauding a young man believed to be around 27 years to the amount of Ghc3,000 with the reason of flying him to France for greener pastures.
According to Mr. John Morcher, the Assistant Commissioner of the Immigration service in the Jaman North District, a Ghanaian by name Osei Joseph and One Okada Rider from the Ivory Coast were stopped by the immigration officers at the Sampa border post for further checks before they are permitted to continue their Journey only to find out through their investigations that, Joseph Osei was directed by a friend who he said resides in France to pay an amount of Ghc3,000 to an agent, for his traveling documents processing at Aflao but after paying the said amount, he was redirected to pay an extra Ghc6,000 at Bondocou (Ivory Coast) for further processing to aid his travelling to France.
Mr. John Morcher stressed that the Ivorian has since been arrested and will be handed over to the Ivory Coast police Service for further investigation and subsequent disciplinary action to be taken.
He, therefore, advised the youth in the country to be cautious of the kind of people they interact with which involves the payment of monies and exchange of other vital personnel information to avoid being defrauded.
Mr. Joseph Osei, the defrauded Young Man shared his Ordeal with Sompaonline.com stating, that it was through a very close friend who spoke with him about the opportunity of traveling to France through the Qnet business.
According to him, he saw an opportunity he could capitalize and travelled outside since he is been struggling with his electric wielding business in Ghana.
He said, he was convinced to pay Ghc3,000 as an initial amount and further prepare for Ghc6,000 for the rest of the processing fees only to realize at the immigration post upon interrogations that the deal was a scandalous one.
