Mr Seid Mubarak, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sunyani East says tackling emerging concerns, socio-economic and development needs of the constituency inspires him to enter into the nation's politics.
Hitherto, he told Sompa FM in Sunyani in an interview on Monday October 13 that his contributions to improving access to potable drinking water in deprived communities was clear, saying "I personally constructed several mechanized boreholes for some deprived communities before I was even elected as the MP".
Mr Mubarak said his passion for development always pushed him to lobby for local and foreign investment, as well as development projects from the central government and foreign partners to alleviate the plight of his constituents.
Presently, the MP said he was having extensive discussions for the investment of $50 million into the rehabilitation and expansion of the Sunyani Daily Market (Masomasom Market).
"When the deal is through all structures and stores at the Sunyani Daily Market would be pulled down and to be replaced with modern stores", he stated.
Mr Mubarak said the market project was required to open-up the Sunyani Central Business District (CBD) enclave for thriving trade and commerce that would be translated into business growth and thereby create wealth for traders, entrepreneurs and market women to boost local growth.
He said drawings on the project which would be executed in two phases were far advanced, saying the market project would contain more than 1,000 stores to be given to the local market women and traders in the enclave.
