The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced a delay in the payment of two categories of allowances for government workers, including those in the education sector.

In a statement on Tuesday, the department said a technical issue during the final payroll run for November 2025 made it impossible to process the allowances on schedule.

“To avoid any further delay in the payment of November salaries for all Government of Ghana workers, the processing of these allowances was paused,” the statement said.

The department assured affected workers that the outstanding allowances would be paid together with December 2025 salaries on 18 December.

“We regret the inconvenience caused and sincerely appreciate your patience,” said Cephas N. Dosco, Head of Public Relations at CAGD.
