The Member of Parliament for Berekum East, Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, has commended the Bono Regional caucus of the Members of Parliament for its strong unity, cooperation and leadership under the current administration, describing it as “fantastic” and development-oriented.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Poku Piesie on ‘Ka Masem Ma Me’ morning show at Sompa Fm-Sunyani, the MP highlighted the importance of bipartisan and collective engagement among MPs, noting that experiences from other regions have shown that when lawmakers work together, it becomes easier to secure development projects, including those that initially appear impossible.
According to Mr Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, the Bono Caucus has demonstrated exceptional cohesion, guided by its leader, Ahmed Ibrahim, and chaired by Vincent Oppong Asamoah.
“Our leader is Ahmed Ibrahim, but the caucus chairman is Vincent Oppong Asamoah. Both have provided wonderful leadership, and members have been very cooperative,” he said.
He explained that the caucus composition reflects a significant majority from one side of Parliament, describing it as “11:1,” while noting that the MP for Jaman South, though included in caucus meetings, stands as a sole representative.
“When you come to Bono, our own has been 11:1. Even though when we meet as caucus, Jaman South is included, he is one-man caucus. Despite that, the unity has been very strong,” the Berekum East MP stated.
Mr Ampaabeng Kyeremeh further emphasized the collaborative spirit between experienced MPs and first-time lawmakers, saying the openness and mentorship within the caucus have been encouraging.
“All of us who are newcomers are learning from those who are leading us, and they are willing to teach us. The leading members are ready to help so that together we can bring development to the Bono Region,” he added.
The comments underscore growing optimism about coordinated parliamentary action in the Bono Region, with MPs expressing confidence that their unity will translate into tangible development outcomes for their constituents.
