President John Dramani Mahama is set to embark on a tour of the Bono Region as part of his ongoing reset agenda, aimed at assessing development projects and engaging directly with citizens starting from Wednesday, March 18,2026.
According to the Bono Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Charles Akowuah Tuffour, the tour will begin in Dormaa Central, where the President is expected to cut sod for the commencement of a 24-hour economy market project.
Speaking with Ama Konadu in an interview ‘Adea Akye Abia’ morning show at Sompa Fm-Sunyani, Mr. Tuffour disclosed that the President will proceed to Berekum West to inspect ongoing work on the Jinijini to Sampa road, the proposed site for a new airport project in Nsoatre.
As part of efforts to improve education infrastructure, President Mahama will also visit Sunyani Senior High School.
According to Mr. Tuffour, the government, through GETFund, is currently undertaking between six to eight infrastructure projects at various stages of completion on the campus.
The initiative aims to elevate the school to the level of top institutions such as Achimota School and Presbyterian Boys' Secondary School.
“The goal is to ensure that students in Bono Region have access to the same quality of education and facilities as their counterparts in the country’s most prestigious schools,”Mr. Tuffour noted.
The President is also expected to inspect the Signal Bureau project he initiated during his tenure.
Meanwhile, the NDC Bono Communication Officer say time constraints will prevent the President from visiting all project sites. In such cases, the Bono Regional Minister will undertake inspections on his behalf and provide detailed updates.
However, the tour will conclude with a stakeholder engagement at the University of Energy and Natural Resources Auditorium (UENR), where the President will meet chiefs, journalists, and residents of the Bono Region.
The session will focus on accountability and provide an opportunity for participants to ask questions and share concerns.
“This tour is about accountability and ensuring that projects are delivered to meet the needs of the people,” Mr. Tuffour added.
The tour forms part of the government’s broader commitment to monitoring development progress and ensuring transparency in the delivery of public projects.
