Mahama commissions Kalsoume Sinare as Ghana’s Ambassador to Spain

President John Dramani Mahama has officially commissioned Kulsoume Sinare Baffoe as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.

The commissioning ceremony, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, marks the formal appointment of Madam Baffoe to represent Ghana’s interests in Spain, strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries.

 

As Ambassador-designate, Baffoe will be responsible for fostering bilateral cooperation, promoting trade and investment, and advancing Ghana’s foreign policy objectives in Spain.

 

Kulsoume Sinare Baffoe is a veteran Ghanaian actress, model, filmmaker, and public figure with a career spanning nearly four decades.

She first came to public attention in the late 1980s and early 1990s through modelling, including representing Ghana at the Miss Model of the World pageant in 1990, where she won the title Miss Model of Africa.

She transitioned into acting, making her screen debut in the stage production Theatre Mirrors before starring in films such as Out of Sight, Babina, Trinity, and Sala, among more than fifty productions.

 

Her performances have earned her multiple awards, including a Golden Actress Award at the Golden Movie Awards for her role in Sala.

Beyond entertainment, Sinare is an advocate for women’s empowerment, youth development, and  education, using her public platform for social engagement.
