President John Dramani Mahama has presided over the disbursement of grants to 475 beneficiaries under the Adwumawura Programme, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and entrepreneurship development in Ghana.

The initiative forms part of broader government efforts to strengthen the country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by equipping young people with the financial resources and capacity-building support needed to establish and expand sustainable businesses.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Mahama underscored the importance of investing in youth-driven enterprises as a catalyst for economic transformation.

He noted that the Adwumawura Programme is strategically designed not only to support startups but also to nurture innovation and resilience among young entrepreneurs.

“This programme is about creating opportunities and giving our young people the tools they need to succeed. We are committed to building an economy where innovation thrives and no one is left behind,” he stated.

The programme also places strong emphasis on inclusivity, with deliberate measures to promote women’s participation in entrepreneurship.

By supporting women-led businesses, the initiative aims to bridge gender gaps and ensure equal access to economic opportunities.

Beneficiaries are expected to receive not only financial support but also mentorship and training to enhance their business management skills and ensure long-term sustainability.

The Adwumawura Programme is a flagship component of the government’s “Resetting Ghana” agenda, which seeks to create a business-friendly environment that fosters innovation, drives job creation, and supports sustainable economic growth.
