Mr Yaw Dabie Appiah Mensah, a member of the Bono Regional Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party has urged the youth to participate in the party’s on-going nationwide membership registration exercise.
He said the youth ought to register to strengthen the NPP’s database, and deepen transparency in the party membership administration.
The largest opposition NPP launched the nationwide membership registration drive between March 1 to March 31, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and prepare for future electoral activities.
Speaking in an interview with Sompa FM at odomase, the Sunyani West constituency capital, Mr Mensah said that the NPP remained sensitive to addressing the plight of the youth.
Mr Mensah noted that the present economic condition of the country was not the best for the ordinary farmer at Odomase saying that: “In fact our maize and cocoa farmers are crying”.
He indicated that the Sunyani West constituency was noted for maize production, and cited that the market price of a bag of maize which used to sell around GHC1,000 in the previous administration was now going for GHC400.
Mr Mensah said the former Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s government would be able to turn round the economic fortunes of the nation, and called on the youth, 18 years and above, to participate in the party registration exercise and obtain membership
