President John Dramani Mahama, as part of his Resetting Ghana tour of the Northern Region, has inspected ongoing works on a new cardiology centre under construction at the Tamale Teaching Hospital by the MahamaCares (Ghana Medical Trust Fund).
The project is aimed at strengthening specialised healthcare delivery, particularly in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions, while reducing the burden on patients who often travel long distances to access advanced cardiac care.
During the inspection, President Mahama reiterated government’s commitment to investing in modern health infrastructure to improve access to quality care and enhance outcomes across the country.

The tour, which is the second after the Bono region, will afford citizens, led by their traditional leaders, the opportunity to engage the President directly to provide feedback on his policy initiatives, their impact on their daily lives, ongoing development projects, and concerns that need redress.
President Mahama, was accompanied by various ministers of state and heads of institutions, also cut the sod to commence work on 24-hour markets and inspected the progress of projects in the region.
