President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Nairobi to participate in the Africa Forward Summit, a high-level France-Africa partnership meeting bringing together African leaders, global business executives and international development partners.
According to a statement shared on the official Facebook page of Jubilee House, the summit is being organised by French President Emmanuel Macron and seeks to strengthen collaboration on sustainable development and economic resilience across the African continent.
President Mahama, who also serves as the African Union Champion for African Financial Institutions, is expected to participate in a high-level discussion on Green Industrialisation and Energy Transition on Tuesday.
The session will focus on promoting Africa’s industrial growth while addressing the global climate crisis.
The Ghanaian leader will later take part in a working lunch on the Reform of the International Financial Architecture, where discussions will centre on improving African countries’ access to sustainable financing and making the global financial system more responsive to the continent’s development needs.
As part of his engagements, President Mahama will also co-chair a round table discussion on health under the theme, “Rethinking Global Health and Building Resilient National Health Systems,” in line with his Accra Reset Initiative.
On the sidelines of the summit, President Mahama is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with several global leaders, including António Guterres, Kristalina Georgieva and Alvaro Lario.
The meetings are expected to focus on global cooperation, economic stability, and food security in Ghana and across Africa.
