Black Queens midfielder Jennifer Cudjoe expressed her deep disappointment and pain after Ghana's heartbreaking loss to Morocco in the semifinals of the 2024 CAF Women's AFCON.

The match ended 1-1 after regulation and extra time, with Morocco ultimately prevailing 4-2 in a penalty shootout. Despite dominating the first half and early portions of the second half, Ghana failed to capitalize on their scoring opportunities, a fact that Cudjoe found particularly painful.

"This one really hurts," she said in a post-game interview. "I feel like we gave everything. It just hurts because I feel like we deserve to be in the final, but also I'm very proud of the team."

Cudjoe, who played the entire match alongside her midfield partner Grace Asantewaa, highlighted the team's resilience and determination, noting that they didn't give up despite the challenging circumstances.

"We didn't give up, we proved to everyone that we can do something, and hopefully, in the next game, we can get a medal," she said. "We still have hope, but in general, I'm just proud of the team... we should have made our chances, but it just hurts. I'm sad."

Despite the loss, Cudjoe remains proud of her team's efforts and is focused on the upcoming bronze medal game against South Africa. The match is scheduled for Friday, July 25, at 19:00 GMT, while Morocco will face Nigeria in the final on Saturday, July 26, at 20:00 GMT.
