Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams has expressed the Ministry’s commitment to explore multiple options to raise revenue to attend to demanding financial needs.
He said this when he made an appearance at a Public Accounts Committee sitting and spoke on varied issues in the sports space including completing the renovation of the Essipong Stadium and the Alhaji Aliu Mahama Stadium.
On the issue of increasing revenue for the Sports Ministry and the National Sports Authority (NSA), Kofi Adams stated,
“The Fixed Asset Coordinating Unit of the National Sports Authority have been deployed to effectively assess these assets and also to consider their true value…and also not necessarily to wait for people to come and rent whether even as NSA itself we can drive activity and programs towards our facilities so it will result in increase in revenue.”
“So we are looking at many options to be able to drive revenue and ramp it up a bit so we do what is expected of us” Kofi Adams said.
NSA Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah was present with the Sports Minister at the Public Accounts Committee sitting.
