Clap for Jesus presents food items, consumables to Sunyani Central Prisons inmates

The Clap for Jesus Fun Club has presented varieties of items for the upkeep of the inmates at the Sunyani Central Prisons.

The Sunyani Newtown-based fun club is an all-male social and philanthropic group, comprising professionals from various fields.

According to Mr Kwabena Owusu Ansah, the Chairman, explained that the club identified and supported the vulnerable and less privileged in society.

The items donated comprise bags of maize, gallons of oil, sardines, as well as secondhand clothing and footwears and other consumables.

In an interview with Sompa FM on the sidelines of a ceremony held at the premises of the Sunyani Central Prisons, Mr Ansah said the group engaged in social outreaches and charitable donations to local institutions too.

The Assistant Superintendent of Prisons (ASP) Reverend Father Emmanuel Asare Bediako, the Chaplain at the Sunyani Central Prisons thanked the club for the gesture and assured that the items would be used for the upkeep of the inmates.

He appealed for more support for the upkeep of the inmates and also improving conditions at the central prisons, reminding that everybody could end up in prison regardless of socio-economic background.
