Ghana’s economy has positive outlook-BoG Governor

Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana says the nation’s economy has positive outlooks due to the continues decline in inflation figures.

He said the country had maintain steady growth of about 6.4 percent in the first quarter of 2026.

Dr Asiama was speaking at a stakeholder engagement organised by the central bank in Sunyani, saying that the decline in inflation figures would impact on the lives of the masses.

Dr Asiama stated that the economy had remained resilient and continues to thrive strongly, saying that the macroeconomic indicators remain stable, and thereby reflecting the effectiveness of measures implemented by the Central Bank and the government.

However, he added that as a small open economy, recurring conflicts in the Middle East and other global economic challenges could impact negatively on the nation’s economy.
