MTN Ghana Foundation pledges financial assistance to emerging young entrepreneurs
Mr Robert Kuzoe, the Senior Manager, MTN Ghana Foundation has advised the unemployed youth to engage in employable skills training, instead of relying on government employment placement and white-collar jobs.
He emphasised that entrepreneurship offered ready jobs, and assured that the MTN Foundation Economic Empowerment Program remained dedicated to provide financial assistance to young entrepreneurs to grow and expand their business and create jobs for others as well.
MTN Ghana in collaboration with the Innohub Foundation, an enterprise support organisation rolled out the MTN Foundation Economic Empowerment Program, an initiative which formed part of the MTN Ghana's 25th Anniversary legacy projects.
The five-year initiative is designed to unlock new growth pathways for young entrepreneurs and seeks to provide financial support to at least 500 deserving Micro, Small and Medium Scale (MSMEs) across the country.
In an interview with the media in Sunyani on the sidelines of a pitch event for the selection of some of the MSMEs, Mr Kuzoe explained that the empowerment program had offered an opportunity for the unemployed to engage in entrepreneurship initiatives and to access financial support
Miss Charity Abatey, a young entrepreneur, expressed the hope that the program would provide her with the financial assistance to grow and expand her business.
She told Sompa FM that financial support would enable her to register and expand her business as well as create employment opportunities for others too
