Retirement Should Not Truncate Your Contribution to District’s Development — AAK DCE Tells Retired Education Director

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) District in the Central Region, Hon. Daniel Mensah Wardy, has appealed to the District’s retired Education Director, Ms. Mary Cudjoe, not to allow retirement bring an end to his contribution towards the educational development of the District.

The DCE said retirement from active public service should rather mark the beginning of another phase of service, where the wealth of experience and expertise acquired over the years could continue to benefit the District and its people.

He made the appeal at the send-off ceremony held to recognise and honour the retired Education Director of AAK, commending him for his years of dedicated service to education and the development of the District.

According to the DCE, experienced professionals who have served the public for several years remain important assets to their communities even after leaving active service.

Hon. Daniel Mensah Wardy therefore encouraged the retired Education Director to continue sharing his knowledge, experience and professional counsel with the District Assembly, particularly in areas relating to education, youth development and human capital development.

Mrs. Juliette Dufie Otami, the Central Regional Director of Education who was replaced with the retiring Education Director to assume her new position, having graced the occasion commended Ms. Cudjoe for her dedicated effort offered the service during her reign as the District's Director of Education.

She reiterated that even though Ms. Cudjoe is retiring from the education service, anything she envisage will help enhance education in the AAK District to grow, will earnestly be embraced.

Ms. Mary Cudjoe, in her submission remarked that

her leadership role has taught her a lot of experience. She wished same for every teacher for such an opportunity to lead and serve.

She said she was encouraged by the love, respect, dignity and selflessness she engaged with during her stay in office.

She echoed on the teamwork that prevailed within her stay in office as the District Director, noting that the support of staff made her work easier.

Ms. Cudjoe however was enthused with the high spirits of staff despite challenges such as delay in promotions, salary increment struggles which doesn't come earlier, and series of government programs.
