Mr Kofi Lotsu, the Sunyani District Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has called on the government to facilitate the upgrade of teachers who passed their promotional exams.
He told Kwasi Kyei Baffour on the Sunyani-based Sompa FM "Adeakye Abia" morning show on Friday that out of the over 60,000 teachers who passed promotional exams, only 6,000 of them representing 10 percent had been upgraded and placed on appropriate salary scale.
Mr Lotsu worried that despite continuous promises, successive governments had failed to pay the allowances of teachers in the country.
